Jack the rear wheels off the ground. It is going to spark when you you do that. Did it click?

The resistor across the large posts will cause it to read that.

I'm working on the same problem. I have 50+ volts on both sides of the controller and the solenoid with the key in the off position, does this mean I am getting it through the controller???? I had all the wires off the solenoid and it worked fine. My 96 Regen 1 only has 1 solenoid it does click when in reverse and back alarm goes on. the solenoid clicks on and drops right out?? Is this normal I would think it needs to stay energized???

This cart is a regen 2. You should probably start a new thread so this one does not become confusing.

Recently my brother-in-law ran into the same problem. His first attempt at repair - installed a new solenoid. The new solenoid did not remedy the problem. After many hours of troubleshooting and using forums it was suggested that he remove the diode that attaches to the 2 small terminals of the solenoid. When the diode was removed the cart worked as it should. He then ordered a replacement diode and installed it and the cart is working fine. When he did the solenoid replacement he accidently installed the diode backwards. Don't know if that caused the diode failure or if the diode was the original cause of the cart not moving. Turns out the solenoid he removed bench tested good.
This is straight from the service / repair manual:
Test Procedure 5 - Solenoid Activating Coil:
1. Remove Diode terminal end from the small post on solenoid (with 18 gauge yellow wire attached).
2. Make sure that the diode direction is correct (Figure 20-2, Page 20-3, or Figure 20-3, Page 20-4). The
red terminal end of Diode attaches to small post on solenoid (with 18 gauge red wire and 18 gauge
white/black striped wire attached).

3. Using a VOM or continuity tester, check for continuity between both diode terminals. Reverse the tester
leads and again check for continuity. A diode is designed to conduct current in one direction only. If a
diode shows continuity in both directions or does not show continuity in either direction, replace the
diode assembly.
4. Remove the diode assembly and the yellow wire from the small activating coil post of the solenoid and
place the red (+) probe of the VOM on the post. Place the black (-) probe on the other small activating
coil post on the solenoid. A reading of 190 to 250 ohms should be obtained. If not, replace the solenoid.
If the ohm reading is correct, reconnect the diode assembly and yellow wire.

diode part number: 1014948.
Hope this helps someone else with this same problem.

Lever F/R

New V-Glide,

The only click is from the VGlide micro switch.

New resistor also.

It doesn't have an OBC.
