That's awesome! You sound like a great Dad.

One of my fondest memories is taking apart an old car engine with my dad, and I was 9 at the time. Neither of us really knew what we were doing, but I finally got to see how the pistons and all actually worked.

Your kids will always remember this little project. By all means, keep the pics coming!

Your son is at that just right age, young enough to not be interested in GIRLS and old enough to need some pre-teen time before he's "too old to be seen with his dad" in public. Besides you very soon are going to have to contend with BOYS in your girls lifes? I know as I raised 5 girls and one boy. You are a true DAD, keep up the good work on your children as well as carts.
Keep pictures coming.

Well,....as you will see I ain't no painter! Highs and lows....but I know what I did wrong....I went too fast. Painting is an art that requires patience....now I know. Also, wouldn't be a bad idea to have some saw horses and an extra paint gun. I'll see what I can fix with some wet sanding and another coat?

For a first try I would say you did very well. It takes many light coats with a half over lap of spray to each wet coat and just allow light flashed between. Like I was always told you can always sand down mistakes and smooth them out and put on another coat or two.

Thanks for the encouragement, I will get better at this....
Funny thing is a painter friend of mine offered to paint for nothing if I supplied the paint. My wife was, like let him do it! I had to explain...how am I going to learn if someone else does it...free or not...that's not what I'm teaching my son!

It looks a lot better than I could do! It's almost always windy here, and I don't have a building to paint in. Mine will probably be primer white for quite a while!

Keep up the good work! You've got something there to be proud of.

I need brackets 1 and 4 in your picture to finish a cart. Any ideas where to get them?
