Default What have i done wrong here???

I have a 36 volt 2002 Club Car that i swapped out batteries today.A buddy gave me the batteries and prior to swapping them out i checked them with a volt meter.I have had the on the charger for almost 6 hours and the meter gauge is still on 20 amperes.I also have a digital gauge on my dash and it is flashing red and green at the lowest point.I all so add that the batteries were charged at the time my buddy pulled them out of his cart......Any help would be appreciated

The charger is looking for a certain cut off voltage... check the voltage where you have the charger connected to the pack and post it here...... you may be only charging 5 batteries? .... in which case shut it down! 6 hours at 20 amps is a RED Flag ...Heck 2 hours at 20amps is a red flag.

I know this sounds silly but, they were 6-6 volt batteries and not 6-8's right? I know its a silly question but could be an honest mistake.

Could have the polarity wrong on 1 battery as well. (or more) Check em closely.

i,m with roady. if it worked before you swapped batteries than chances are you put a battery in backwards.....not hard to do at all so i would recheck the batteries and make certauin they are in right...............that would account for the charger being pegged at 20volts and your gage acting crazy............................
