Heavy duty front spring for Precedent
I have an 06 Precedent and I was wondering if the front spring for a DS will work on a Precedent. More specifically, will a heavy duty spring for a DS work on a Precedent? I can't seem to find an HD front spring for the Precendent.
The reason for this is that I have a 3" lift kit and I have 22" tires on 12" rims and when I turn right or if the cart dips, the drivers side fender rubs on the tire. I think a stiffer spring or perhaps even a newer stock spring would fix this issue. In case you are wondering why I don't have a 6" lift: I originally did. The problem was a 6" lift with 23" tires was too tall for some of the older tunnels in Peachtree City. I almost needed a shoe horn when I went through one. :) Thanks, DGC |

Re: Heavy duty front spring for Precedent
The 2006 Precedent uses the same stock spring as 2005 DS so it should interchange

Re: Heavy duty front spring for Precedent
Cool. I thought maybe they did since on one site I saw that they were selling a stock spring and they said that it was for a DS and Precedent but I wanted to be sure.
I ordered one last night so hopefully it will fix the rubbing issue. Thanks, DGC |

Re: Heavy duty front spring for Precedent
The springs are the same between the two carts... the bushings aren't. You'll have to swap your Precedent bushings into the new spring or else it won't fit into the bottom of the kingpin. It'll be too wide.

Re: Heavy duty front spring for Precedent
Ah, yes. I found that out before reading your post. :)
Sure enough, the bushings were too big. Luckily, the bushings from the stock spring were still in really good shape. Thanks for the help DGC |
