Morning....

Ok. Replaced both the micro swithces and hurray, she's alive! Unfortunately, she runs once in F or R without stepping on pedal??? When I step on the pedal, she stops (or slows....haven't left it running too long, don't want to ruin anything else).

I've swapped the smaller terminals on the solenoid, same results.

This points me to the V glide, but all looks well. Wiper is a little worn but is on the first two "dummy" copper plates so shouldn't that cut power to the coils?

Thanks for dealing with a newbie!!!

I'm seeing two conflicting diagram...

In regards to the wire (green) coming out of the V glide; one says to wire it into the charger connection (also tied to - of battery pack), the other says to wire it to the + terminal on the F/R switch.

When I tie it to the chager (as it was when I started) it runs by itself as above. Nothing when I tie it to the + terminal. Guess that answers this question.

With what Scottyb as explain (on numerous occasions) seems like the solenoid is powering at the wrong time???

How about a simple 101 on proper solenoid wiring?

Thanks.

A quick overview of the solenoid is :
The solenoid is a HD on/off switch or Contactor
the connection is made /broken between the 2 large terminals. The 2 small terminals are the activation circuit. typically one terminal will have a constant negative connection to the pack. When Positive power is applied to the second terminal the contact is drawn up against the spring to make contact. When power from either side of the activation circuit is removed then contact is released and the spring pushes it away interrupting the circuit ...It doesn't matter which terminal is neg or pos.

Ok. Just installed 2 brand new mircos and brand new solenoid and I'm back to my starting point this moring..... The cart goes forward without pressing on the pedal and it stops when I press pedal in both forward and reverse????

Seems like the solenoid is working opposite of what I want it to do???

Please advise. Thanks.

Ok, for the other slow minded newbies out there.....

There are both 2 and 3 terminal micro switches. I love learning the hard way!!!
