Default cart surging

hey all
ive been givin a golf cart, not bad nick but when i try to take off forward or reverse it just shudders like the brakes are on and wont accelerate,
would this be caused by the batteries being shagged
any help would be appreciated

no expert here, but I will go ahead and get this out of the way for the ones coming along that can help you. What kind of cart is it? The more details you can provide about your cart, the quicker you will get answers.

yes, if the cart is shuddering, there is more than likely one (or more) bad batteries in the cart.

agreed, 90% of the time shuttering is due to low voltage. It could also be a bad throttle input, but from most of the time it's batteries.

What model year is the cart, it's on a sticker located on the rail where the dash and floor board meet.

So measure each battery, with a digital volt meter and post results here.
Also measure from the first +POS battery lead on the left/ back passenger
side to the the -NEG on the last/right battery on the driver side (this will measure the entire Battery PACK)
