Great! The problem is that the brake hub is splined - that is it has little teeth cut into it. And the shaft that runs thru it has little teeth in it that fit into the teeth in the brake hub. So, the teeth are not meshing anymore. Usually, the brake drums strip - that is the teeth tear up. But sometimes, both the brake hubs and the axle shaft strip - So, the teeth are gone. You will have to take it apart to see which one you have. Usually, it only happens on one side, but check both of them. Seems my new brake drum was $50 when I did it.

Monchi.....we mentioned at the beginning that this is a common problem....yes you can just replace that one drum......but it COULD happen again.....however, there is a fix. replace BOTH drum with HD ones, and you won't have a repeat. One of our site sponsors, cartsunlimited.net. here is a direct link to what you would need.

This stripping of teeth seems to be a weak link in EZGO golf carts.

Hey guys, just got back from my trip and could not wait to try to fix the Golf Cart. I went directly to buy the 2 HUBS and installed them. The problem is fixed!!!! It did cost me $63 for each but it is done. Back to cruising around the block. Thanks for the help
