FWIW: A DCS controller defaults to Forward and you have to apply pack voltage on Pin-4 to get the controller to go into Reverse mode.

I'll keep an eye to the southeast, watching for mushroom clouds.

Well, I followed your advise and wisdom and replaced the DCS resistor board with a standard 270ohm precharge resistor on the main lugs and a diode in the small lugs. Hooked it all back up on jack stands of course and no excitement at all really. New original type solenoid as it is a stock cart on its last legs cause his child will kill it soon. Fixed a few melted small wires and replaced the main B+ cable. I was shocked but it all worked as it should. Still trying to figure out why the reverse switch didn't read right but oh well... IT'S Alive !!! I promised pics but nothing exciting about a DCS controller and standard solenoid.

Pretty uneventful but we almost ran out of thought cans as Chevy would call them..

Just as a question should we write up a sticky or something on how to replace that $40 DCS resistor board with a standard precharge and a diode?

Thanks again JB, you made a family with two semi Autistic boys very happy for this coming week at the beach. I did the labor but with your knowledge We made it happen... His cost, a 12 pack and a kiss on the cheek from his smoking hot bride

Do you have part numbers for the parts you used? I may try to do this to mine and see if she will work… my B+ wire still gets melting hot

Standard diode and a 270 ohm resistor.. Will not fix a B+ getting melting hot. Something is pulling way too much current.

Starting to think its the solenoid...because I dont have 36v if I probe both main terminals with a DVM
