Default Starting to Modify My 96' Club car 48v and need HELP!

Okay, so where do i start! I have a 1996 club car 48v series cart. It has all new batteries replaced less than a year ago. It has a 6in jakes lift kit and 22x11x10 wheels/tires. It is a four seater. I am looking to do some modifications while i am replacing the body and it is off. So, right now i have a stock Curtis controller Model # 1204-410 which has a 225 current. For my motor it is the stock Club Car part # 1017857-01 motor with 3.10 HP special service . Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to increase my speed and my torque. As of now the cart does 13-15MPH. So is there any way to replace just the motor or just the controller or what kind of setup should i do to get to where i want it. I am thinking around 20-24 MPH should be good. Please let me out! any help would be great!!
