Sounds like the wiring is connected to the motor wrong.

Ive checked them every where with another cart beside it, and with it going forward in both gears got me puzzled.

Classic symptoms of a bad controller. Did you disconnect the main battery power on both the positive and negative sides before you changed the motor and controller? It only takes a simply arc of a wrench on the motor to totally fry a controller. This is exactly how these controllers behave when they fail in this manner. I've seen it numerous times. Is your Roadrunner motor an IQ/Sepex motor with a speed sensor on the end of it or is the speed sensor non existent?

no I didn't disconnect the wires from the batteries, cause I had the tow/switch turned off. so didn't think nothing of it and as far as the motor, its a 2011 cc ds, so not positive if it has the speed controller on it or not.

thanks for the reply, been busy haven't had a chance to get back on here.

A 2011 DS was only available with one drive system, the IQ system. Turning the tow/run switch turns off the controller, but does nothing to the wiring providing power to it. The batteries must be disconnected before you attempt to change a motor or controller. You most definitely have a bad controller. If your motor is a series motor, and not a sepex motor, that's another issue that you're going to come across. It's also an issue that can ruin a controller as well. The two motors are not compatible so it's very important to make sure you have a Sepex motor for your IQ system.
