Re: Hole in steering assembly?
While I have always dreamt of doing Dukes of Hazzard style jumps in my cart, I haven't done it yet. Must have been the previous owner and I just now noticed.
Trimming the bolt might be a good idea.... |

Re: Hole in steering assembly?
If it straightens that easy, it'll likely just bend again. I would seriously consider cutting some steel triangles and welding them on after the mounts are straightened. May have to curve them a bit to provide clearance for the rubber bushings. Then you may be able to try to emulate the "General Lee" with your cart

Re: Hole in steering assembly?
bob is on the right track...my mounts already bent back part of the way....
the trick is to leave enough room to tighten the fastener...after considering the options-i elected to wait till i had more time.... |

Re: Hole in steering assembly?
We may have found why some people say 20s fit and say they rub -
PS not everybody has a welder or the skill to just throw a gusset on the bracket |

Re: Hole in steering assembly?
Straighten it out with a floor jack, 2x4, and nylon strap. It still has a little bend in it, but its not rubbing on the steering dust cover any more.
It did noticeably raise the front of my cart. I planned on some new leaf springs in the back anyway, so that should help level it. |
