What is this model number
Hello guys and gals it's been awhile. We must be learning something because we have not had to ask a question every other day. But I have one now.
A customer brought a club car in and it might be a Frankenstein. The model number is JY0819-902482 so I looked but I can not find the prefix JY Anyway it has a admiral 10hp motor, a lift kit and big tires, now here's the joke a stock Curtis 250a controller. The customer complaint is he can not go fast, if we barely mash the accelerator it will run about 2 or 3 mph but if you press the pedal it stops. I have a feeling that he needs bigger controller or smaller motor. Everything checks out good. The only thing I don't know is how long he has had it before it started this problem. The customer doesn't care about speed or a lot of torque. He uses it around the property hauling leaves and branches and kind of flat terrain. Any ideas. |

Did You check the stickies?
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...tml#post994636It is an XRT 850. Troubleshoot like an IQ. It sounds like an MCOR issue. |

I agree, it sounds like a potential MCOR issue. Did you ever buy a scanner to diagnose issues like this?

Re: What is this model number
No I don't think dad or bro in law checked mcor, maybe we getting so smart, we got dumb. I think we ASSumed controller was not providing enough amps to motor.
Yes I looked at stickies and even at the other place bug unlimited but didn't see a Y. I will look again just so I c it. No scanner yet 😂 Ok we'll check mcor but if it is good maybe we can trade down to a 3 to 5 hp |

Re: What is this model number
What Admiral motor is it? The A-2? Sounds like it, with a 10hp rating. It's fine on a factory controller. Don't waste your time swapping that motor in hopes of fixing your problem.

Re: What is this model number
Found a bad sonic weld, looked like 5 wires coming from front, down to 2 wires going to the rear. One of those came from run/tow and supplied 50 CDC to the obc. But cart seems to be running great. Thanks for the assistance once again
