Default Unused switch?

I just picked up this Yamaha G1 EM4. This switch between the seats is disconnected. What is it for?

Looks aftermarket. I've owned a G1 gas but not electric though

Follow up... I flipped open the chassis and chased down the wires to that switch. One goes to the solenoid. I am now really confused about it. The lights has a dash switch, so it is not from that, unless the previous owner re-routed power to the new switch.

I also have a pair of wires hanging in the front of the chassis and in the rear.

This came up a while back. If I remember, it was something that gave you full speed.

It is likely "overdrive", or in technical terms "field shunting". Should also be wired to the pedal somehow to only allow operation at full throttle. Decreasing field current allows a little more speed, but causes increased motor temps.
