Electric Club car won't move forward
2006 club car moves normally in reverse but not in forward. Solenoid does not click in forward. Forward, reverse, switch and wiring is good. Wire and connection to the controller checked and is good. Any other checks before replacing controller?

Re: Electric Club car won't move forward
Welcome to the forum. You'll find what you need here!
I'm bumping this to bring it to the attention of more experienced techs. I would suspect the F&R switch or wiring even though you say they check good. It appears the forward contact circuit is not being made. It could be the controller, but that is not likely. Please post the first 5 characters of the cart serial number. |

Re: Electric Club car won't move forward
Model is PQ0609 serial is 607415
thank you switched blue (reverse) wire and white (forward) wire at the switch and same problem. runs in reverse and not in forward. returned wires to normal position and measured voltage of each wire at the controller. switch in forward white wire is 49 volts. switch in reverse blue wire 49 volts. switch off each measures 0 volts. |

Re: Electric Club car won't move forward
You have a bad controller. I suggest either upgrading the cart or replacing the controller with an Alltrax XCT300iq controller. It'll give you more power and speed than the factory controller did.

Re: Electric Club car won't move forward
thank you, that is my conclusion. I wanted to see if I was missing something. the cart belongs to an eighty four lady in the rv park. I am doing this as a favor to her. will check on the controller you mentioned. thanks again

Re: Electric Club car won't move forward
The alltrax can be adjusted for a slower top speed and a super conservative acceleration rate if you choose. It would be very comfortable for her to drive.

Re: Electric Club car won't move forward
The controller comes with a wiring diagram. It's pretty straightforward. If you choose to mount it in the factory location (which I highly recommend) you'll need to replace the yellow wire that is currently connected from the solenoid to the B+ of the controller. It will be too short to reach the Alltrax. You'll need to order one that is approximately 17" in length.
