2012 48V Ezgo Golf Cart Slow on Incline
Using a digital volt meter, I tested the 48v system after taking it off charge and it read 49.7 volts. After driving a short distance and while attempting a slight incline the voltage dropped to 42.1. I drove further and tried a higher incline and the cart slowed to a crawl--thought I was going to have to push it--and checking the meter it still registered 42.1. After limping back to my garage I once again check each individual battery. All batteries registered 8.1 except for one which registered 7.9 volts....sigh.....I am at wits end....

Re: 2012 48V Ezgo Golf Cart Slow on Incline
Your batteries aren't being fully charged.
49.7V is only about 75% charged and if the voltage reading was take less than 8 hours after charger shut off, it is lower still. You want to see 50.9V about 12 hours after charger shuts off. For individual 8V batteries, you want to see about 8.49V. (8.1V is 50% charge) |
