Default Differential Gear Ratio

I would like to know how to check the differential gear ratio while the differential is in the cart? How many revolutions of the driven clutch to how many revolutions of the tires? What are the ratios? What is the tooth count on the ring and pinion for each available ring and pinion sets? Thanks, Ted

find the center of your wheel/tire measuring across, use a framing square and mark the bottom and top of your tire, so you can be sure it lines up straight up and down. find and mark a reference point on the driven clutch and count the the number of times you rotate the driven clutch to get the wheel/tire to make one rotation. I believe the ratio of your cart is 13.25 to 1, reverse is 14.36 to 1 if no one have changed it. the tooth count is another way to tell but i don't have any apart to count at the moment

Dane makes these rears with several ratios, yours would be model (H-12 FNR)

Ruredy, Thanks for all the information. I will check it out. My differential is from a Ezgo 952G Industrial 6 Passenger Shuttle. It has Heavy duty hydraulic drum brakes in the rear and 6" disc brakes in the front. It does seem like it is low geared. With my built 23hp Vanguard it goes faster than I really want to drive it in my neighborhood. Thanks again for all the information, Ted

My cart tops out at 21mph, But I believe this is due to the rear end gears being gear too low?

no strech has put a govenor on it plus you have smaller tires... your cart should run 30mph

I got a question. I have 2 different rear ends. Both out of EZ Go Workhorse 1200's. When I rotate the brake hub, it will rotate 1 complete turn to the clutch shafts 13 rotations so its 13/1 ratio. The other rear end is 7/1 ratio. Of these 2 rear ends, which one will give me more top end? 13/1 or 7/1?

The 7/1 will give more top end yet sacrifice some low end
