Default Does anyone know how far to space a magneto?

I am currently tearing replacing a magneto in a 94 club car, and do not know how far to space it from the fly wheel. I am changing this because I have low spark after pressure washing the cart a few weeks ago. I checked the rev limiter by swapping it with one from another cart, and even replaced the ignitor. I have spark, but not enough to fire the engine. If anyone knows the best way to set the gap I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Jeff

I'm thinkin' the air gap is .020. I always use a business card to gap the coil to the flywheel... Hope this helps... Someone will be here soon enough with the OE setting.

My 1995/1996 service manual shows the ignition coil air gap for the FE290 engine to be set at .012... Generally most small engines use an air gap setting of .008-.012, or about the thickness of a business card..

Good news the business card worked perfect and now the cart runs better than it ever has. Thanks again for all your help
