8v batteries
I am about to replace 6 8v batteries in my 2003 ezgo. I wanted to know if anyone has any info on the Crown CR190. Are they worth getting instead of the Trojan T875 because of the higher amps? I just don't want to make a $900.00 mistake. Thanks

I'm the only owner of this cart and the batteries. They have been meticulously maintained. The higher capacity of these batteries is most certainly a factor in their longevity as I'm only getting 4-4.5 years of life out of Trojan 875s in another cart under the same conditions. Not exactly a fair comparison as the other cart is used more per month so more charge cycles per month. I'm not a typical cart owner as these carts are used in place of autos. Also not a statistically valid sample. At least one of the local independent cart shops who I respect thinks they are junk. He means the brand in general, not the 190s specifically. YMMV |

Re: 8v batteries
Jonnie B posted a battery comparison chart if you search.
I got 4 years out of last set of Trojans but not being original owner not good comparison. Replaced with US batteries with better specs and slightly less price compared to Trojans. I know folks at campground who have 5 years on crowns and still going strong. This is campground use, not year round use. Most cart owners around here use either crowns or US batteries ( aside from those that budget shop but also replace batteries every other year) Almost no one uses Trojan due to cost😊 |
