Default 1991 electric Club Car

Hi all. I just wish to introduce myself and say thank you for the valuable info found so far on this forum. I bought a 1991 CC GC last week. Not a bad old cart, but batteries had been frozen and broken and unit was pretty neglected. After a lot of cleaning, plus new batteries it is now a running car. I remade the battery cables as they were excessively long and three had the ends entirely corroded off. I also put in six 6V rather than the five 8V that it came with from the po. I hope to use this cart for an events butt buggy as I have some problems walking. Thanks again.

Welcome to BGW ..... do you mean to say that you bought a cart with dead 8 volt batteries and you replaced them with 6 volt batteries?

Hi,

That is correct. It had been running on 40V instead of 36V before the po let the batteries freeze. He claimed no knowledge of why the five batteries, but said they worked fine and it was "peppy". He had owned it that way for three years.

I'm sure it was at first... the charger would have been a little rough on the 8v. Never really giving them all they needed...... Kinda reminds me of my first wife

Thanks cdray. Cool reply, ScottyB. LOL.

Can someone advise me how to turn off "notice of reply" being sent to my personal e-mail from this forum..

Thanks,
Charlie

Please scratch the "notice of reply" question. I did some self help reading and found the answer.
