Default Has anyone rebuilt Generator?

Hello,
has any one rebuilt a generator / Starter? Have a (91) and I am convinced the gen/starter is binding up and shutting dowm my cart. my question is I never had one apart is it doable for an average person or does it require special tools for a pro. Thanks

I would assume I could buy a rebuild kit from our sponcers?

You may want to drop it off at a local Starter rebuild shop... there are 2 bearings in it.... I dont know if they could be so bad as to stop the motor? Never heard of this. Here is a look inside...

They aren't hard to rebuilt IF you have the experience and the tools. We rebuild them all the time (bearings and brushes). If your armature is shot, you're better off just getting a new one...
