Default Engine swap in 89 CC

Thanks In advance for any info, would an Fe290 from a 92 be an easy swap for for a flathead in my 89? would I notice much of a power increase between the two, or should I put my money into a rebuild on my flathead. Thanks Steve

That is a good question... I am curious what others have to say about this...
THe KF82 flathead is actually a bigger (341cc) lower compression engine with 8.5 hp and the fe290 is rated at 9 hp.....so hp wise the difference looks minimal. I think that the OHV engine will rev up quicker ???

Swapped the FE290 from my 94 into an 85 with the flathead. Boyfriend had it done in 2-3 hours. Said it was super easy. The difference in the cart was substantial
