Scotty... You kill me!!!

Jim,
My cart is 3 years old, I'm replacing my drive belt in a couple of months,
(along with getting BOTH my Drive, and Driven clutches machined by CPP!)

As for the RPM's... 4200 is really the max you want to go with your FE290
before the valves start to "float" so... keep an eye on it!

BIGDAWG,
When I first bought my cart new in 07, the zip tie trick was the only way, (I felt)
I could get speed, and NOT void the warranty! (if something happened, cut the ties, and bring it in!)
I put on 25" tires last winter, with my FE350, the RPM's are at 4400 with the zip ties, and I get 32 MPH!

Sooo... why fix it... if it's not broken?

I put a tachometer on the cart, and I measured the following RPMs vs Speed as measured by GPS:

3190 - 12 mph
3550 - 14 mph
3970 - 18 mph
4350 (pedal all the way depressed) - 20 mph

I think I will be safe running at about 16-17 mph, under 3900 rpm.

This is with a wind shield, stock tires, and a new clutch belt.

Thanks for all of your help and suggestions.

Jim

Those are great numbers Jim!

Just make sure you don't run at WOT (4350) for long periods, short bursts may be O.K.,
Be careful, I'd hate to hear of you sitting on a "donut", because you got shrapnel in your a$$!
