1986 EZ GO 2 cycle
I am restoring a 1986 EZGO It is clearly going to cost many $$$ as it had been abondoned to the elements for many years. I now have the engine disassembled but before I order the rebuild kit there are a couple of things that I would like to do. The first is to bench test the starter/generator. Does anyone know what connections need to be made to spin the motor in both directions?
Secondly it looks like I will have to buy a new clutch. I have the old one off and it appears to have rusted up in the open position. Now the conventional wisdom is to buy a new one but I cannot believe that some brave/foolish/curious person has not removed those 6 bolts and taken one apart. Can it be dismantled? Has anyone been there before? Kind regards Dave |

You can take the clutch apart but you can't get parts (tried to no avail).
Dunno about the starter/generator. |

You should be able to look in the tech sticky and have a look at a wiring diagram to determine the polarity of the S/G so that you can bench it.
