BIGGER carb on 89 Marathon
I just installed a Mikuni VM32 on my 89 Marathon. Tons more get-up-and-go! The pilot and needle jet circuits are good, it needs a smaller main jet.
I made a manifold up quick to see how the carb would work. Now I need to finish the manifold and get rid of the JB Weld. It doesn't hold. I added an oil injector port to the manifold because I REALLY don't want to pre-mix. I have the pump linkage all the way open for now, and will watch the plug to see how it's burning. If I have to pre-mix, I will. The stock throttle cable only moves about 1/2", and the mikuni moves about 1-1/4", so I made this adapter plate. Keep in mind that this was all for testing the carb. I'll make both pieces again so they don't look so redneck. |
