EZGO TXT Body Removal
Guys
I'm looking at a 2007 TXT cart to purchase and do custom paint. How hard is it to remove the bodies on this model? Lots of rivets? Thanks |

Re: EZGO TXT Body Removal
First thing you'll probably need to do is download a service/repair manual, it will show you every step and where all those rivets are located!
There are some threads here to tell you how to get them. |

Re: EZGO TXT Body Removal
Its not that bad really, proababy less than 25 rivets and 12 or so bolts. Realistically if your mechanically inclined you could have it off in less than 45 min.

Re: EZGO TXT Body Removal
Pretty easy. Can have the car stripped easily less than an hour. We typically strip 30 plus a week. Need a drill and bit, 10mm socket for name plate, 9/16 socket to remove charger plug connectors, 3/8 socket for bumber bolts, phillps head screw driver (bit) & 7/16 wrench to remove sill plates, 9/16 swivel socket to remove seat bracket bolts, cordless impact (makes life a lot easier), and air hammer for the rivots that need a little help.

Re: EZGO TXT Body Removal
You will need more than just one drill bit. They will dull and take longer to drill out the rivets. If you go to the gas ezgo section there is a very nice write up in complete removal of the bodies. It's in the stickies.

Re: EZGO TXT Body Removal
If your bits are dulling from the aluminum rivets on an EZ-Go, you need to spend more money on drill bits.

Im talking to tackle the big stainless ones at the bottom. Not everybody has an air hammer... just some advice to make things easier for one.
