Runs when it wants to.

I have a 90 Ds gas cart that will run like the wind and then when you stop it, you don't know if it will restart or not. It is so random, it won't start for days then one day I get on it and it will start. I can run around for several short trips then it won't start. Pushing the pedal I get the solenoid click. I have replaced all of the micros switches just to be sure.
I would love any input on this thing. I sure would like to fix it.

so you get just a click? have you looked at starter brushes? ........................

You have a 27 year old cart with maybe an original S/G.
1st, make sure your battery is tested good, All of your cables and connections are clean and tight.
Then, the next time it just clicks, jump the two large posts on the solenoid, if it spins you have a solenoid going out.
If it still acts like before when you jump them then like Tom mentioned, you have an issue with your starter.

Thanks guys I will check the brushes. I have jumped the solenoid and it does not start.
