Good visibility

Plausible wire routes

We have had a lot of charging questions with the cart from the customer so I chose to hard wire the meter to the pack so that the pack & the charging cycle could be checked at a glance ...

I got my pointy silver marker and traced around the meter while holding it firmly in place.
The marker works good on any hard surface and a pen works well on anything else.
I use the fat marker lines as a gauge when I am filing towards the final fit.

A sharp 3/16 drill put a hole inside each corner and new 24 teeth per inch hacksaw blade ground to a point was my saw.
Notice my holes and cuts are well inside the edge of the line I traced around the meter. There is not much room for error. The meter has a small lip around the outside. So error on the side of caution, I had to file a lot but the install was clean....
Looks great Scotty What questions did the customer have? Any reason why you did not use the 48v feed under the dash? Is it a more accurate reading wiring it back to the pack?

The hole for the little digital meter is smaller than the Curtis bar meters..... so it won't fit in the old hole..... But you are giving me an idea for an adapter plate.......

The customer swears the charger doesn't work everytime they plug it in. They have this problem with the other cart too.... Everytime I bring it to the shop to test it works fine = computer okay? I go to their house and plug it in and it works fine...... now the funny part is the other cart is a western... so different plug. Maybe they just are not getting the plug pushed in completely... anyway with the meter hardwired to the pack we can reliably see if in fact the charger is working.

Scotty, have you ever thought about making a plate for the meter for a club car?

I wish there was a way but nothing stands out? Ezgo was eazy because they had that little 2 x 4 key switch plate which was just a natural to modify...Have you got any ideas?

No, but as soon as I call you to order the meter I may put my thinking cap on

What gauge wire did you use, 16ga? Also did you add a fuse at the positive battery post for the meter wire feed for safety?

The meter draws a few mila-amps, hardly a measurable draw... I use 18g wire. You could use 22g if you want, the draw is very minute.

A very nice job Scott! Anything you want to look decent takes time. I have spent hours drilling little holes and cutting with cutoff blades and I know about the time you put into this to make it look nice and work properly for them!
