I'm not an expert on Club Cars, but I do know a little about batteries. If they are bulging, then a new set of batteries is not far away.......

My '08 Trojans had some pretty good bulging going on when I replaced them. The new ones aren't too much different, I would say if they charge and load test well there is little to worry about.

how do you tell if they are really 09 because i just bought this cart and thats what he told me.

There is a date code on the negative battery terminal, for example mine have E1 stamped in them. E is the 5th letter of the alphabet which represents the 5th month of the year and 1 represents the year 2011. If yours are '09 batteries they should have a letter with a 9 next to it. I am running Polk Audio db series 5 1/4" in the front and rear.
