Does anyone have the diagram for a 2004 TXT rear end so I can be sure? I did find a input shaft o-ring on the EZGO site that is for all current models. I guess mine was just missing somehow. Maybe it disentigrated? |

Re: Input shaft leaks oil into motor
My 06 EZGO is leaking into the motor as yours was, do you have to pull the differential out of the cart to change the seal. Any advice will be appreciated,

NO you can remove the motor and then the input shaft without removing the differential from the cart. Match the O ring up at a local parts house.

Re: Input shaft leaks oil into motor
Do I just remove the snap rings and slide the shaft towards the motor side?

Re: Input shaft leaks oil into motor
Yes, just remove the one snap ring and grab the thing and pull it straight out. The o-ring is recessed in a grove of the diff housing. I had to get a decent grip on it the first time. Mine has been in and out about 25 times due to me trying to solve a whine that started after replacing the input shaft. DON'T REPLACE IT, unless the input splines are torn up bad and you have to change it. From what I have read the new ones always whine since they are not worn to your peticular gears. My cart sounds like it has a turbo gas engine now and I hate it.

Re: Input shaft leaks oil into motor
I also have the Dana axle 88-95 manual. Apparently, my 1998 Series TXT has a 1997 axle.
thanks |

Re: Input shaft leaks oil into motor
Thanks, where did you get the O ring, do you have a part number or something, My motor made a lot of noise and I changed the motor bearing and it quieted down a lot,

Re: Input shaft leaks oil into motor
You can match up the o ring locally at most parts houses or you can order it from ezgo ,but if that is all you need their shipping is kinda high.
