This cart had brand new batteries 36v.
But I do have another cart I will build for speed.

Oh you were dead on about the V glide. It wasn't even touching the top
You should think about this as your livelihood . Lolthx big time.

But not day and night performance.

Basically your cart was designed for 8-11 mph transportation on a groomed pathway. Any other use will require modification to the drive system and other aspects of the vehicle.

This is one reason why the 48v conversion has become so popular.
The average handyman can do it in their garage in a weekend and it boosts torque and speed by 30%. That's an improvement you can feel from the driver's seat.
Until you take it apart and start changing everything else under there....

Hello All,

Just replaced my 6-6V batteries as well (1986 club car 36V), and no change in power whatsoever. Actually batteries seem to drain rather quickly as well. Wiper is sweeping full distance. What other things should I check? My assumption is that if cart moves, which is does, then the solenoid is not the problem. Any other suggestions?

Batteries have more to do with distance than speed. If wiper is going all the way, issue usually becomes motor on the older cars
