G14 engine build
Im needing the torque specs on the connecting rod nuts, cylinder head bolts and valve lash on my Yamaha G14. Also are there any line up dots to line up the camshaft to the crankshaft to put in time. Thanks for any input!

Re: G14 engine build
Rod nuts-29 ft lbs. cylinder head bolts-20 ft lbs. Bothe intake and exhaust-.004, when engine is cold. The cam is easy with the hole and mark on the crank, the crank will need to be turned slightly to install the balancer to get the marks, cam hole mark to look like a "V", like the picture.

Re: G14 engine build
Glad I could help alittle. Do you know the orentation of the rings? Might also call Tom @ Cartpartsplus and order an advanced timing key, hear it really helps with throttle responce. Be carefull, Tom is so knowledgable, after talking to him, you may have a larger part order. Good luck with your project.

Re: G14 engine build
Got all the parts for the overhaul. Does the cylinder need to honed or does it have a special coating that dont need honing? Also what is the orientation of the rings. I built many car engines but this my first cart.

Re: G14 engine build
Yes hone it! The rings need a good surface to seal correctly. Hope you can see the picture.
