Default G16 spider gear replacement

Where's the best place to get new spider gears for a G16? Never seen one blow apart. It actually punched a small hole in the cover. How big a job is it to replace them and what could cause it to blow up? It had plenty of gear oil as it came leaking out the hole. Thanks

I don't think those are going to be high volume parts, so prices will probably be nearly non-negotiable. I would suggest you start with our site sponsors, then E-bay, then web. Can't help with "how hard it is" as I've never done it, but you will probably have to pull axles then replace gears. Good luck - RAY

U da man Smallblock!! Got it out and back in. Life is good. Two PIA's in removal 1) Getting axle out when you don't own a slide hammer/puller. Improvised with a couple of big washers behind hub to create space then cranked down the hub nut to move the axle the first 3/4 inch. Then used hub as a slide hammer. Worked like a charm. 2) The Maingear and differential won't come out unless you drop the rear suspension arm a bit. I cleaned the case out as best I could. I used a pickup magnet to get as deep into the case as possible and picked up metal filings and a tooth (that would have left a mark) of the broken differential. This has been a parts cart for about a year so time to put it back together and get it back on the course. Thanks for the help!

Fantastic news! I useually take the hub off, remove the circlip, spary some PB Blaster, let sit awhile, install the hub backwards and start hitting with a "Ford" tool I know you said you were putting it back into the "fleet", I know it can make you money, but.....maybe you need to start a "build" of your own. Might be a good addition to your hunting atv collection, dogs love to ride on car's
