Re: I am doing the HF electric to gas conversion.
I think I still have a few days to go to be able to post pictures. I have tried twice and the forum locked me out.
I just was on youtube 2 weeks ago and saw the conversion then went out and got a cart. All I knew was to get a ezgo early 90's model to try to match Ryans. Up to that point I have never even been in a golf cart. I lucked out that the cart has all the goodies on it when I got it. I think the steering wheel is aftermarket because it doesn't have the little clip board. And the dash is carbon fiber & highspeed motor. Plus the jakes drop axle lift and mud king tires. I traded a firearm for the cart. For what the cart is going to be used for transporting the kids and what not it will fit the bill. And hopefully I will be under the 500.00 dollar range for the complete restore of the cart. The whole cart is getting speedliner on it in metallic yellow. Speedliner is some tough stuff and you can make it look and shine like paint. A buddy I rode with coated his wifes atv with it. And it is beautiful. They threw some flake in it. |

Re: I am doing the HF electric to gas conversion.
The pictures dont show how shiny the liner is but you can see a little sparkle from the flake.
Here is some pics of the electronics I pulled out of the cart. Hopefully some one might be able to shead some light on what I should ask for them. Please excuse the picture quality kids lost all my memory cards to the good camera. I dont know what these two other things are that are wired to the motor but they are there too. Re: I am doing the HF electric to gas conversion.
The motor and torque converter will run you around $300. You should be able to do the rest for the other $200. It's what you get the urge to do after you call it done that will break ya. It's definately addictive.

Re: I am doing the HF electric to gas conversion.
that is a nice motor and solenoid set up. don't know the specs, but a call to emp will fix that. it is probably one their 2 speed set ups. do you have a pic or #s off the controller? it will probably be an upgraded unit also.

Re: I am doing the HF electric to gas conversion.
Thank you for your help. I don't know anything about the cart electronics. Is the controller the big switch or the computer thing with the solenoid. I think I saw a potentiometer mounted inside the bracket.

Re: I am doing the HF electric to gas conversion.
I'll see if I can dust off the stuff attached to the bracket and get a better picture. I haven't looked to see if there are any labels I can see. Do you think it would be ok to disconnect some of the cables I been moving around all connected together and the motor is heavy. I was worried if someone wants to test it I don't know how it supposed to go back. Also what can I use to clean the dust off with? I figure soap and water would be good.
