83 marathon 00 txt part swap.

Hello everyone i am new to the site and have been reading alot over the last few days since this is my first golf cart ever. I purchased a 1983 EZGO Electric Marathon Golf Cart that i paid 175$ for. I was also given by a freind of mine a 2000 EZGO Electric TXT. Now were is where it gets fuzzy.

The 83 marathon has a metal body with no light. It has the roof with small cracks, Seats, and backrests. Now most of the body is in good shape other than the little step area where you get in the cart and the area where all the batteries were. Also the lower part of the back fenders where they connect to the floor board where your feet go. I figure that i can just cut out the bad parts and weld in new 18G sheet metal in its place.

The 00 TXT is supposed to have all good electronics but the body busted in spots and missing some of the steering linkage, Roof, front lights, and the back seats and backrests.

I am wondering if i can use all the electronics off the 00 on the 83. I just want to swap the motor and not the rear end b/c i have another use for the reared out of the 00..

I was told that the electronics are better on the 00 than the 83. Most part is the 00 does not use the wire resister to cut power to the motor for speed.

I guess i need to figure out what all electronics i have. I will get pics of all that tomorrow and post all of it up. I Have all of the electronics to the 83, not so sure on the 00
