Default New Guy with a 2003 G22

Hello to all,

I am new to this so please bear with me. My buddies are members and have Yami G 1's and G 2's. I bought a 2003 G22 in good shape and I am in the process of lifting it and putting larger wheels and tires on. I was planning on doing the Jake's 6 inch spindle lift and adding 10 x 7 wheels with 22 x 11 x 10 off road tires. Can anyone tell me if I can go to a 12 X 7 wheel with the 22 x 11 x 12 off road tire or even a 23 x 10.5 x 12 off road? I am also going to install a rear seat and figured that while I have the rear shocks off I should add the HD spring kit to the rear. Any advice would be welcome.

I just did a G22 with a 3" lift in the G8 club thread, starting around page 445. May want to go have a look.

As far as tire size, I would do what Jakes tells you, so you don't have rubbing issues.

Thanks Guys,

Jake's recommends the 22 x 11 x 10 so I guess I will stick with that. My buddies are Ed and Jim (I never asked their user names) and Ed has a great 79 G1 that be brought back from the dead and fabricated his own lift kit and mods out of box iron. It looks and runs great now. Jim has a 89 G2 that he just did a long travel lift kit on and has the 23 inch tires on it. They both got me hooked on buggie mods. I have experience with car / truck mods and resto's ( restored a 1964 Comet, 1963 Galaxie, a 1967 Galaxie ) and modified a 1979 and 1986 K5 Blazers. All you guys have great looking carts, hopefully I will get there at some point.

Thanks again for your responses and advise.
Elliott
