NEW TO EZ-GO: Do I have a Series or PDS? And what year....
Just switched over from Club Car to EZ-Go, so I'm not as familiar with it just yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I bought a re-built cart from a guy in my neighborhood who sells them. Everything is completely re-built, under carriage and batteries/cables, etc. I've clocked it at 19mph on my a GPS app on my phone. How do I know if it's PDS or not? I think it's PDS because the tow/run switch under the seat is on what I believe to be the controller. But, I don't have regen braking like i had in my previous precedent, and I thought that came standard on PDS. I think I already have the Freedom chip in it, could this chip be the reason I don't have Regen? There's also a small hole in the middle of the body below the seat above the floor board that's got a rubber plug in it. To me this seems to be where a F/R switch might go on a Series model. But my switch is up on the dash like a PDS is supposed to be. Is this hole standard on all bodies, or do I have a DCS? Lastly, the serial plate that is supposed to be under the seat is gone. So I don't know what year it is..... and he can't remember if it was 2008 or 2010. Anyway to tell without that plate? |

Welcome to BGW
yes you have a PDS cart, and the freedom chip is why you do not have Regen braking, the hole in the body with the rubber plug is for the series F/R switch, all the body's were the same, |

Sounds like a PDS and at 19mph you do have the freedom chip and yes it removes regen braking.
Edit: I am a slow typer LOL |

Late model TXTs had a an ID tag on the frame rail above and behind the batteries.
Lift the seat and the access flap to view. |

there should be a number under the charger plug on the body, or on the cross member under the seat, right above the rear batteries
