Re: more powe!!!!!!
How about some pictures under the seat.
Especially the controller area. A DCS cart doing 20 MPH isn't stock, and the tires look about right for stock, so the controller isn't. If you've got a 400A or better aftermarket controller, with good batteries, good cables, good solenoid and a good motor, you'll have a torque monster. |

Re: more powe!!!!!!
Aha - It is a battery problem. The cart runs fine at first, but not for long.
And you want a little more oomph. Replace the 3x12V battery pack with 6x6V and you'll get more run-time, meaning it won't slow down as much on hills and not as soon. The higher the Amp-Hour capacity of the batteries, the longer the run-time. To get more speed and torque, you can increase the voltage of the battery pack. Going from 36V to 48V is common and is best done with 8 x6V batteries. 6x8V is also 48V and while the run-time is less than 8x6V, it is about the same as it would be with a 6x6V 36V system. I'm sort of splitting the difference and going with a 7x6V (42V) system using high capacity batteries, but my goal is run-time and both speed and torque are incidental. |

Re: more powe!!!!!!
That is an Alltrax DCXxxxA (DCS) controller.
If the case is 6.5" long, it is 300A or 400A and if the case is 8.5" long it is a 500A or 600A. The label is on the bottom end. You might be able to read it using a small mirror. Here is the website. http://www.alltraxinc.com/Products_DCX.html The solenoid looks like a 200A/400A-peak. It's hard to tell what the cables are, but if they are 4Ga or heavier and in good mechanical and electrical condition, you probably aren't loosing much power there. You will have to change the solenoid to go to a higher voltage battery pack, but the controller will work up to 48V. I think you will see a lot of improvement just be getting a proper battery pack in the cart. |
