New to me ST Sport II
Not sure if this cart will get me in the club, but I'm here and loving my buggy. It's 2009 electric and is in good condition, was used in a large warehouse. I paid $3k USD and think I got a pretty good deal, not 100% sure. Would like to get ideas on what to do and what not to do with this cart. I would like to lift it, put a stereo in it and any other novel ideas. I don't want to lift or alter a cart if it will cause problems later on, something I'm sure some of you guys and gals have learnt the hard way. Any help is very appreciated and thanks!!!

Welcome aboard Benny! By the way, EZGO is one of the more popular carts on here so you will fit right in. Post some pictures of your new toy when you can. Most of us are too old to function without pictures.

Re: New to me ST Sport II
Welcome to the loony bin, Ben.
Upgrading a cart's performance is a balancing act. For every gain there is a corresponding loss that must be accepted or compensated for. For example, lifting cart usually includes installing taller tires and taller tires change the final drive ratio, so you get more speed, but less torque. To recover the lost torque, you have to increase the Amps going through the motor, which means a bigger controller and heavy duty cables and other components. Adding bells & whistles to a cart is fine, but has to be done right or you might get undesired results. Just about anything is possible. The trick is to figure out what you want the final results to be and then build towards that goal. Spend some time and think it through, and you will be just fine. |
