Default finally got it lifted!!!!

finished the spindle lift today,,,man it was tuff !!!! looks great but the ride is less than I hoped for....wants to drift and dodge way to much....spent about 2 hours playing with the toe-in and the camber it helped some but not near enuff to be stable and straight running....

also got an issue with the driver side tire grabbing the frame if I try and make a tight turn..the tread actually got hung up so bad I had to jack it up to get un-hung.....

any help with the "weaving" would be appreciated

I was told that the 22-11-10's wouldn't be an issue....so I gotta do some figuring on that part....

camouflaged
New fe-290 engine installed
lift and tires installed
new drive belt installed

next is either a new carb with the high-speed jet, or having the clutchs machined....

What lift is that? Get camber set as close to 90 degrees as you can and make sure toe is as close to 0 as you can get.

The tires rub because the lift you got does not extend the wheel base any. A Jakes Lift (which costs a little more) repositions the spindles lower and forward to allow maximum wheel clearance. 22 inch tires fit with ease on my CC with only a 3 inch Jakes lift kit. See pic. I would call the seller and ask for my money back. What are you supposed to do? Carry a floor jack with you for right hand turns!?
PS: Jakes install in minutes without a fight or alignment problems. Proving that sometimes it is better to spend alittle more...

I'm not sure if what lift you have but a common fix it to re-drill the mounting hole forward NO MORE than 3/4 of an inch.....also any less than 3/4 and the tires still may rub.

Sounds like something is tweaked if its only happening to one side. I have the exact same lift and tire size (and from the same company) on my Club Car and there is plenty of clearance even at full turn.

Take a measurment from the back of the tire on each side to the frame and see if one side is off-set more then the other.. That would also explain the drifting.

Also check to see if the steering is turning more one way than the other. If you turned your steering wheel while you had your links or tie rods disconnected you may have mis-aligned things. I centered my steering box link before re-connecting everything and then used the tie rods to put both my wheels straight again while the steering box was still centered.

I've had the exact same problem with both my Jakes lifts on my CCs. I think the extension plate is your best bet. BTW, my tires are 22x10x11 also.
