Default 1982 Yamaha G1

Have a chance to get my hands on a 1982 G1 for about $800. Body is in good shape but it doesn't have a battery in it or a choke cable so I can't hear it run. What do you guys think?? Would it be worth it??

Can you bring a battery and manually choke it to see if it will start? I always just give everything a good look over to see what condition it is in. Does it look abused or well taken care of. How bad do you want or need it? Everything is worth what a buyer is willing to give. That is how I approach buying something.

for that price, I would like to see it running. A battery will be around $100, choke cable $ 25 you can assume some wiring issues. With nothing else wrong with it (electronics, oil seals, jug and piston), figure $1000 up and running.

The G1 is a tank. Good cart to build. As far as the price goes, if it's in good shape all around and runs good it's probably worth the $800. A lot depends on the condition and what carts are selling for in your area. It's only worth what someone is willing to pay. I myself wouldn't go any higher than that. It's a 31 yr old cart. I'd shoot for around $500 and go from there. JMHO
