Re: Finally out driving the carts around and ?
My series cart takes off RIGHT AWAY. Any Sepex carts I have driven always are sluggish off the line.

Re: Finally out driving the carts around and ?
You might need some new cables on the PDS cart.
I got a little more oomph on the low end when I installed 2Ga cables on an otherwise stock PDS. With the original Carlisle Links tires (17.4" tall), the tires would slip slightly on blacktop and spin a little on hard packed dirt. After I installed Carlisle Turf Master tires (18.3"), it would no longer slip at all on blacktop and barely slipped on hard packed dirt. However, they would still break loose on grass. From what I've been able to determine, all the various J2 plugs (speed chips) do is alter the maximum motor RPM and amount of regen braking and all four PDS modes have roughly the same low end torque, which is intentionally reduced by limiting the amount of field current when armature current is near max. Also, the throttle up rate on a stock PDS controller is fairly mild. Replace the stock PDS controller with a DCX, set the throttle up rate to 15 and floor it. Either the tires will spin, or the hub splines will strip, or the motor will start releasing the magic smoke that makes electrical stuff work. |

My wife's cart is a sepex Ezgo. 2008 PDS. Not sluggish off the line anymore...
42 volts. Alltrax 400. 4g cables. Custom D&D motor. Spins the tires - now at almost any speed... Goes too fast to be safe. Wait until she drives it, she'll probably kick my ash |
