here's one, the 72v converter will be cleaner and take up less room than the batteries and charger

I know that the DC-DC converter ScottyB sells is good to 60v, he may also carry the one that goes to 80v....it looks pretty much like to one in the picture RIB posted above.

here's a picture of mine during my build.

I pm'd boke about that converter. It's not his, he just posted it for a friend. The friend isn't a member, wants paypal as a gift so not fees (no insurance for me either that way). Friend says converter was mounted but never connected. It looks very used and wiring cut up like it was wired. Too many variables for me on that one. I still may do converter but I'd but it from a sponser new. Way too easy to smoke one if you don't know how to hook up wiring.

Finally had some free time to continue working on my latest 72v cart with Jakes long travel. It's 95% done, only lack a windshield and mirror install. I took it for a drive today and am AMAZED at the ride quality of the long travel. I am also very, very satisfied with the speed/torque compromise. I get 27 mph on flat ground and so much torque also. Speed is perfect for riding around community and local trails.

To summarize here are the mods:
-72v (six - 12v T1275 Trojans)
-72v QC on-board charger
-Alltrax AXE 72450
-Reversing contactor
-D&D highest torque custom motor ES-5E (3000 rpm)
-8:1 gears
-2 gauge cables
-23 inch VX tires
-Jakes Long Travel lift kit

I have a question. Why bother with a converter at all? Couldn't you just run a parallel circuit through all 6 batteries and get your 12V that way? Seems more efficient than converting 72V to 12V, plus it's one less piece of equipment to lug around.
