Smile Aftermarket Controllers/Wire Kits

I see a lot of comments on various aftermarket/high-amp controllers and heavy-gauge wires (4-gauge). I'm no expert on electric carts, but do have an interest in improving both speed and efficiency.

I have a 2007 Yamaha Drive cart with a Commander high-speed motor. The cart came with the stock Yamaha controller and battery wiring.

So, what might I expect in terms of performance and efficiency (miles-per-charge) by changing to a high amp (500 amp) controller or 4-gauge wires?

Thanks to all who have experience and insights into this area.

Does anyone have experience with one of the aftermarket controllers? The stock Yamaha 260 amp controller may be over stressed by a high speed motor and I would like to know if anyone has any insights.

Thanks

Your cart is a Sepex drive system. Switching to an Alltrax control will increase torque and speed but it won't make the drive system more efficient... if anything access to more amperage potentially could shorten your run time if you are a lead foot driver.
