Default LED Lighting

I have a gunsmith client that is a product rep for a number of companies out of the Dallas area.........

The other day he brought me a couple of sample lights for the EZRV I'm buiding......

These are pretty cool and they draw about 3 amps a piece but have the same output (lumens) as a 150 watt flood which draw over 10 amps each (most 48 to 12 volt reducers put out about 20 amps). Basically these allow you to run more stuff for longer!

The light on the left is a 24 watt and the one on the right is a 27 watt (has one more LED).

The heat sink is bigger on the 27 watt.

Because these draw such low amperage you can run two on 18 ga wire and through most any switch w/o a relay (super simple install).

Stainless steel hardware (brackets and nuts/bolts/lock washers) and powder coated aluminum housings.

Nice WHITE BRIGHT light!

Why do LEDs need heat sinks? One of there best features is their lack of heat?

High Output LEDs produce a lot of heat at the LED junction. So much heat, that if not dissipated, will result in a very quick death of the emitter. (basically, it will burn itself up) This heat has be dissipated in a manner that keeps the junction temperature below its maximum ratings. (cooler than maximum is preferred as it typically means more light & longer life) A big chunky heatsink is usually the answer.

Thank you for the info, but I'm going with "cause it makes them look HOT"

It is the OUTLAW bar:
http://www.jakesliftkits.com/liftkit...ub-car-ds/7274

The mount is flimsy. I have the mount on upside down to get the bar to the height of the cowl and this allows the bar to have too much leverage on the mount so it moves around quite a bit.

I just bought a piece of 1/4" plate to fab up a new mount (almost three times as thick).
