Default slow Cart

Have a 2002 36 volt E-Z Go . I just repaced 6 new batteries, Golf cart will run all day with one speed but will not excelerate.
Any suggestions that you may have my help.
Golf cart ran OK before the old batteries went bad and were replaced.

check to make sure all batteries are hooked up pos to neg and all connections are clean and tight

all batteries have 6v or better , all batteries together have 38v (next) thank you''
