![]() Is it possible to change the forward reverse lever with a switch - this is for a 2001 Txt 36 v electric. I would think you should be able to do this without much difficulty. It has been done before what type of switch is recommended.

![]() You need either 2-6 wire solenoids, or 1- reversing solenoid made for this kind of application. The cheaper way is with 2- 6 wire ( 4 large posts-2 small control posts ) WR solenoids connected by one toggle 3 way switch to control ( on-off-on ).

![]() No you cannot use standard cart solenoid because they only have on or off large contacts, Needed solenoids have on-on contacts that switch from one end to other of solenoid. The Allbright SW200 series contactor in proper voltage and 2 small control posts and (4) large posts are needed. Or the White Rogers 586 in 6 posts ( 2 small and 4 large Posts ) with correct voltage will work and be much cheaper in cost.
If you PM me I can help with needs? |

![]() The answer to all of this is NO. NO, you cannot change to a toggle switch. The carts which utilize a toggle switch F&R actually have the F&R switching done inside of the controller & they run different motors also... So it is not a simple thing to change. For most people it is not worth it.
I'm not saying oldmec can't do it. I think TAYLOR DUNN did what he is explaining... |

![]() It can be done with a set of solenoids and a 3 way as OLD MEC described. It's not cheap though!

![]() I know I have a sketch of this somewhere. It may even be posted somewhere on this site. I'll dig around but no promises. Maybe search on "contactor" or "solenoid" switching???
Yes, scottyb, my TD E6 is contactor/solenoid switched direction control. |
