Default 2001 ezgo txt won't move.

I have a 2001 ezgo txt standard PDS. I was repairing rear tailight and didn't put in tow mode. So I fried negative wire on tailight and positive wire hooked to the key switch. The cart still ran but no lights. Fixed wires and now cart won't run. I don't have lights when I turn key on with new key switch but if a jump wire I have lights. Now the main issue. I have good batteries, fully charge and read good voltage. Reed switch is bypassed. No clicking from solenoid and cart doesn't move. Where do I go from here? Thank you forum members for any help.

It sounds like you know now to put the cart in TOW before any electrical work is done. It also sounds like you may have an issue somewhere along the red line in this solenoid activation diagram below.

I take it you have a 3 position keyswitch (Off - On - On W/Lights)

You indicate the lights will work when you bypass something with a jumper wire. What exactly is it that you bypass?

You say that the positive wire hooked to the keyswitch was fried. Which positive wire?
(There are at least four wires on that type keyswitch and all of them are positive. One 36V, one switched 36V, one 12V and one switched 12V)

Are you sure that the wires connected to the keyswitch are landed on the correct terminals? (See attached drawing)

I melted the positive wire coming off the lights. I bought a light switch and hooked lights up and all worked.

I suspect the key switch and pedal box micro switch need evaluation.

I put a jumper wire on solenoid where the blue wire is and the cart doesn't move but solenoid clicks. Where should I go now?

I checked pin 5 with pedal up and I have pack voltage. Pin 7 shows nothing. Does this mean anything?

Where was the other end of the jumper connected?

You previously mentioned the reed switch was bypassed, so you should have full battery pack voltage on both Pin-4 and Pin-5 100% of the time.

With the Run/Tow switch in RUN, keyswitch ON and either F or R selected on the F/R switch, you should have full pack voltage on Pin-7.

If not, check the switches mentioned.

If they are all sending pack voltages to their respective pins on the controller and you don't have pack voltage on Pin-7, then the controller is bad.

So on the key switch yellow wire reads 25.3v, white wire 25.3, yellow/white nothing and red for lights 12.3. Does this tell me anything?
