Default Re: Who to call for replacement speed conroller?

My vin is JU2204645. I still haven't heard back from the shop. Is changing a speed controller something that requires special tools? I have a volt meter and can still print my name and somewhere around here I have an A&P license.

It's not really hard to do, you just need common sense. Switch the Tow/Run switch to Tow, unhook the main + and - connections from the battery pack, unbolt the controller connections, unbolt the controller. Repeat the steps in reverse order with new controller and you are good to go

Dang, it's a Moronic controller Any G22-e serial# JU2-202130 and above used it. Talk to Scottyb about his suggestion. I personally have never used an Altrax, most cars in my area are gas. Good luck

For what its worth. The dealer finally decided the problem was the voltage reducer and fixed the problem.

How does a voltage reducer make a car not run? Maybe it's time for me to retire, but I still have 6 years to go Glad it worked out for you

As little as I know about RXV's I can understand that if the battery voltage drops....electric brake locks up the car. Glad you work on and not me.

Glad i have all the schematics that are available to a ezgo dealer (being one), or i wouldnt want to try it either. If you understand what that motor brake is supposed to do, and not supposed to do, it makes more sense. That brake actually works off only .5 amps. I wish everyone here, and where i'm at understood it does nothing to do with slowing the cart down, only holding it stopped after it has come to a stop. Would be much easier.

I just replaced my Yamaha Drive stock junk controller with a Altrax XCT from Plowmans for significantly less $...Plug and play....picked up 8 mph and monster bottom end....

Check it out at plowmans carts
