Default Toggle switch on the voltage reducer?

I have a 48v with 4 12 v batteries. I have the accessories hooked up to a voltage reducer. Can I simply put a toggle switch on the hot wire going from the battery pack to the converter in order to prevent any battery drain.

Just looking for the most simple solution to prevent the battery drain.

Thanks

That should work fine. The "inrush current" may wear-out the switch faster than using the convertors "keyswitch wire" if provided.

If the reducer is hooked through the key switch is there still a slight drain on batteries when switch is off ?

Yes, but it is something like 4x slower drain than the batteries' self discharge rate. Really not a lot to worry about.
