We had an ST at the railyard that would sound that alarm continuously if the chassis got wet. I never could find where the short was so I put a rocker switch on the dash connected to the alarm. If it was being a nuisance, just flip it off. If you need it, just turn it on.

no it was off topic ... are you asking if the 2 wires can be used for a meter ? the answer is yes
